Plattsburgh Air Force Base
Plattsburgh Air Force Base was a military installation located in Plattsburgh, New York. Established in 1941, it served as a strategic site for various air operations during the Cold War. The base was home to several aircraft, including the B-47 Stratojet and B-52 Stratofortress, and played a key role in the United States' defense strategy.
In 1995, the base was closed as part of the Base Realignment and Closure process. Today, the site has been repurposed for civilian use, including the Plattsburgh International Airport and various commercial developments, contributing to the local economy.
