Platonic Solid
A Platonic Solid is a three-dimensional shape that is highly symmetrical, with faces that are all the same type of regular polygon. There are exactly five Platonic solids: the tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron. Each solid has identical vertices and edges, making them unique in geometry.
These shapes are named after the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, who associated them with the classical elements: earth, air, fire, water, and the cosmos. Platonic solids are significant in various fields, including mathematics, art, and architecture, due to their aesthetic appeal and structural properties.
