Pizza Stones
A pizza stone is a flat, round piece of natural stone or ceramic used to bake pizza. It absorbs moisture from the dough, helping to create a crispy crust. When heated in an oven, the stone retains high temperatures, mimicking the conditions of a traditional pizza oven.
To use a pizza stone, preheat it in the oven for at least 30 minutes before placing the pizza on it. This ensures even cooking and a well-baked base. After use, the stone should be allowed to cool before cleaning, as sudden temperature changes can cause it to crack.
