Francisco Pizarro was a Spanish conquistador known for his role in the conquest of the Inca Empire in the early 16th century. Born around 1471 in Spain, he embarked on expeditions to the Americas, where he sought wealth and land. Pizarro's most notable achievement was capturing the Inca ruler Atahualpa in 1532, which led to the fall of the empire.
Pizarro founded the city of Lima in 1535, which became the capital of Peru. His actions significantly impacted the indigenous population and the Spanish colonization of South America. Pizarro was assassinated in 1541, leaving a controversial legacy as a conqueror.
