Pipe Jacking
Pipe jacking is a trenchless construction method used to install underground pipes without the need for extensive excavation. This technique involves pushing a pipe through the soil using a hydraulic jack, which minimizes surface disruption and reduces the impact on the surrounding environment. It is commonly used for installing sewer lines, water mains, and other utility conduits.
The process begins with a launch pit, where the pipe is positioned and the hydraulic jacks are set up. As the pipe is pushed forward, soil is removed from the front using a cutting head, allowing the pipe to advance smoothly. This method is efficient and often preferred in urban areas where space is limited.
