Pintupi
The Pintupi are an Indigenous Australian people primarily located in the western desert region of Australia. They speak the Pintupi language, which is part of the larger Western Desert language family. Traditionally, the Pintupi lived a nomadic lifestyle, relying on hunting and gathering for sustenance, and they have a deep connection to their land and culture.
In the late 20th century, many Pintupi people began to settle in communities, particularly in Papunya and Kintore. Today, they continue to maintain their cultural practices while also engaging with modern society. The Pintupi are known for their vibrant art, which often reflects their connection to the land and their ancestral stories.
