Pigeon Point Lighthouse
Pigeon Point Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on the central coast of California, near the town of Pescadero. Built in 1871, it stands 115 feet tall and is one of the tallest lighthouses in the United States. The lighthouse was constructed to guide ships along the rocky coastline and has been a vital navigation aid for over a century.
The lighthouse features a distinctive white tower with a black lantern room at the top. It was automated in 1976, eliminating the need for a lighthouse keeper. Today, Pigeon Point Lighthouse is part of a state park and attracts visitors for its scenic views and rich maritime history.
