Cape Mendocino Lighthouse
The Cape Mendocino Lighthouse is located on the northern coast of California, near the town of Shelter Cove. Built in 1868, it was designed to guide ships safely along the rugged coastline. The lighthouse stands 59 feet tall and features a distinctive white and black striped pattern, making it easily recognizable.
In 1998, the lighthouse was decommissioned and moved to its current location at the Cape Mendocino Lighthouse Park. Today, it serves as a historical landmark and is part of the California State Parks system, attracting visitors interested in maritime history and scenic coastal views.
