Pictor Constellation
The Pictor Constellation is a small constellation located in the southern sky. Its name means "the Painter" in Latin, and it was introduced in the 18th century by the French astronomer Nicolas Louis de Lacaille. Pictor is home to several notable stars, including Alpha Pictoris, which is the brightest star in the constellation.
Pictor is best viewed during the months of February to April. It contains a few deep-sky objects, such as the Pictor A galaxy, which is a distant spiral galaxy. Despite its small size, Pictor is recognized for its unique shape and position in the southern celestial hemisphere.
