Pick and Roll
The "Pick and Roll" is a fundamental basketball play involving two players. One player, usually a guard, dribbles the ball while the other, typically a forward or center, sets a screen (or "pick") to block the defender. After the screen, the player with the ball can either drive to the basket or pass to the screener, who rolls towards the hoop for a potential shot.
This strategy is effective because it creates mismatches and open shots. Teams like the Golden State Warriors and players such as Stephen Curry and Draymond Green often utilize the Pick and Roll to maximize scoring opportunities.
