Physical Change
A physical change is a transformation that affects one or more physical properties of a substance without altering its chemical composition. Examples include changes in shape, size, state, or appearance. When ice melts into water, it undergoes a physical change, as the chemical structure of water remains the same.
These changes are usually reversible, meaning the original substance can often be recovered. For instance, when water evaporates into vapor, it can condense back into liquid water. Other examples of physical changes include breaking a glass, dissolving sugar in water, or chopping vegetables.
