Photosynthetic Plants
Photosynthetic plants are organisms that convert sunlight into energy through a process called photosynthesis. They use chlorophyll, a green pigment found in their leaves, to capture light energy. During photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil, producing glucose (a type of sugar) and oxygen as byproducts.
This process is essential for life on Earth, as it provides food and oxygen for many living organisms. Photosynthetic plants include a wide variety of species, such as trees, shrubs, and grasses, and they play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and supporting diverse ecosystems.
