Phoksundo Lake
Phoksundo Lake is a stunning alpine lake located in the Dolpa district of Nepal. It is renowned for its deep blue color and is surrounded by majestic mountains and lush forests. The lake sits at an elevation of 3,611 meters (11,848 feet) and is part of the Shey Phoksundo National Park, which is home to diverse wildlife and unique flora.
The lake is approximately 4.8 kilometers (3 miles) long and 1.8 kilometers (1.1 miles) wide, making it one of the largest lakes in Nepal. It is fed by the Phoksundo River and is famous for its clear waters, which reflect the surrounding landscape. The area is also culturally significant, with nearby villages showcasing the rich traditions of the local Tibetan communities.
