Philippine tarsier
The Philippine tarsier is a small primate native to the Philippines, known for its large eyes and unique appearance. It belongs to the family Tarsiidae and is one of the smallest primates in the world, measuring about 4 to 6 inches in length. These nocturnal creatures are primarily insectivorous, feeding on insects, small vertebrates, and even birds.
Tarsiers are characterized by their long fingers and toes, which help them grasp branches as they leap between trees. They have a distinctive head that can rotate almost 180 degrees, allowing them to spot prey easily. The Philippine tarsier is an important part of the ecosystem, contributing to pest control in its habitat.
