Philip Syng Physick
Philip Syng Physick was an American surgeon and a pioneer in the field of medicine during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Born in 1768 in Philadelphia, he is often referred to as the "father of American surgery" for his innovative techniques and contributions to surgical practices.
Physick graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and studied in Europe, where he learned advanced surgical methods.
