The Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors are a professional basketball team based in the United States. Originally founded in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors, the team was one of the original members of the Basketball Association of America (BAA). They won the championship in their inaugural season and later moved to San Francisco in 1962, becoming the San Francisco Warriors.
In 1971, the team changed its name to the Golden State Warriors to represent the entire state of California. The Warriors have had notable success in the NBA, winning multiple championships, particularly in the 2010s, led by star players like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
