The Philadelphia Warriors were a professional basketball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1946, they were one of the original teams in the Basketball Association of America (BAA), which later merged with the National Basketball League (NBL) to form the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team was known for its early success, winning the championship in 1947.
In 1962, the Warriors relocated to San Francisco and became the San Francisco Warriors, eventually changing their name to the Golden State Warriors. The franchise has since become one of the most successful teams in NBA history, winning multiple championships.
