Phalangida
Phalangida, commonly known as harvestmen, are arachnids belonging to the order Opiliones. They are characterized by their long legs and small, rounded bodies, which can often be mistaken for spiders. Unlike spiders, harvestmen do not produce silk and have a fused body structure, giving them a unique appearance.
Harvestmen are primarily nocturnal and are found in various habitats, including forests, grasslands, and caves. They are scavengers, feeding on decaying plant material, small insects, and other organic matter. Their role in the ecosystem helps in nutrient recycling and maintaining soil health.
