Peter Bartholomew
Peter Bartholomew was a French knight and a prominent figure during the First Crusade, which took place from 1096 to 1099. He is best known for claiming to have discovered the Holy Lance, a relic believed to be the spear that pierced the side of Jesus Christ during the crucifixion. This discovery was made in the city of Antioch, which was a significant location during the Crusade.
His claim about the Holy Lance inspired the Crusaders and boosted their morale during a critical time. However, Peter's credibility was later questioned, and he faced skepticism from some of his peers. Despite this, his actions contributed to the fervor and determination of the Crusaders in their quest for the Holy Land.
