Pertinax
Pertinax was a Roman Emperor who ruled for a brief period in 193 AD. He was known for his efforts to restore order and discipline in the Roman Empire after the chaotic Year of the Five Emperors. Pertinax was a former soldier and senator, and he aimed to reform the military and improve the administration of the empire.
His reign lasted only about three months, as he faced opposition from the Praetorian Guard, the elite soldiers responsible for protecting the emperor. Pertinax was ultimately assassinated by the guards, leading to further instability in Rome and the rise of Didius Julianus, who bought the throne.
