Persian Constitutional Revolution
The Persian Constitutional Revolution took place between 1905 and 1911 in Iran. It aimed to establish a constitutional government and limit the powers of the monarchy. The movement was fueled by widespread dissatisfaction with the ruling Qajar dynasty and demands for political reform, civil rights, and a parliamentary system.
The revolution led to the establishment of the first Majlis, or parliament, in Iran. Although it initially succeeded in creating a constitutional framework, internal conflicts and foreign interventions eventually undermined its achievements, leading to a period of political instability and the eventual rise of authoritarian rule.
