Pershing I
Pershing I was an early version of the Pershing missile, developed by the United States during the Cold War. It was designed as a tactical ballistic missile, capable of delivering nuclear warheads to targets at a range of approximately 1,500 kilometers. The missile was first deployed in the late 1960s and played a significant role in NATO's defense strategy in Europe.
The Pershing I system included a mobile launch platform, allowing for rapid deployment and increased survivability. Its development was part of a broader effort to counter the threat posed by the Soviet Union and to enhance the military capabilities of NATO forces during a tense geopolitical period.
