Perry Smith
Perry Smith was an American criminal, best known as one of the two men involved in the 1959 murder of the Clutter family in Kansas. Along with his accomplice, Dick Hickock, Smith was arrested and later tried for the brutal killings, which shocked the nation and inspired the book "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote.
Born on October 27, 1928, in Huntington, New York, Smith had a troubled childhood marked by family issues and instability. He was executed by lethal injection in 1967, following his conviction for the Clutter murders, which highlighted the complexities of crime and punishment in America.
