Perpetual Motion Machine
A Perpetual Motion Machine is a hypothetical device that can operate indefinitely without an external energy source. It would continuously produce work or energy without any loss, defying the laws of thermodynamics. These machines are often categorized into two types: those that create energy and those that maintain motion without energy loss.
Despite numerous attempts throughout history, no perpetual motion machine has ever been successfully built. The concept is considered impossible because it violates the first and second laws of thermodynamics, which state that energy cannot be created or destroyed and that systems tend to move towards increased entropy.
