Perioperative Nursing
Perioperative Nursing is a specialized field of nursing that focuses on the care of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This nursing practice is divided into three phases: preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative. Perioperative nurses assess patients, provide education, and ensure that all necessary preparations are made for surgery.
During the intraoperative phase, perioperative nurses assist the surgical team in the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment and monitoring the patient's vital signs. After surgery, they help with recovery, managing pain, and providing instructions for post-surgical care to ensure a smooth healing process.
