Percy Rebellion
The Percy Rebellion was a conflict in 1403 in England, led by the Percy family, particularly Henry Percy, known as Hotspur. The rebellion arose from tensions between the Percys and King Henry IV, primarily over issues of power and land. The Percys sought to challenge the king's authority and restore the influence of the noble families.
The rebellion culminated in the Battle of Shrewsbury, where Hotspur and his forces faced the king's army. Despite initial successes, the Percys were ultimately defeated, leading to the death of Hotspur. This defeat solidified Henry IV's rule and diminished the power of the Percy family in England.
