Peramelidae
Peramelidae is a family of marsupials commonly known as bandicoots. These small, nocturnal animals are native to Australia and New Guinea. They have elongated snouts, strong hind legs, and a body shape that resembles a small rat or rabbit. Bandicoots are primarily insectivorous, feeding on insects, worms, and other small invertebrates.
There are several species within the Peramelidae family, each adapted to different habitats, from forests to grasslands. Bandicoots play an important role in their ecosystems by helping to control insect populations and aerate the soil through their digging activities.
