People's War Group
The People's War Group (PWG) was a Maoist militant organization in India, primarily active in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Founded in 1980, it aimed to establish a communist state through armed struggle, drawing inspiration from the ideology of Mao Zedong. The group sought to address issues like land reform and social justice for marginalized communities.
In 2004, the PWG merged with other Maoist factions to form the Communist Party of India (Maoist). The group has been involved in various violent activities, including attacks on government forces and infrastructure, leading to significant security challenges in the regions where it operated.
