People's National Congress (PNC)
The People's National Congress (PNC) is a political party in Guyana, founded in 1957. It emerged from the struggle for independence and has historically represented the interests of the African Guyanese community. The party has been a significant player in Guyanese politics, often alternating in power with its main rival, the People's Progressive Party (PPP).
The PNC has focused on issues such as economic development, social justice, and national unity. Over the years, it has faced various challenges, including allegations of electoral fraud and internal divisions. Despite these issues, the PNC remains an influential force in the political landscape of Guyana.
