People's Mujahedin of Iran
The People's Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI), also known as Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), is an Iranian political-militant organization founded in 1965. Initially, it aimed to overthrow the Shah of Iran and establish an Islamic government. Over the years, the PMOI has been involved in various political activities and has opposed the current Iranian regime since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The PMOI has been designated as a terrorist organization by some countries, including the United States and Iran, but it has also received support from various international groups advocating for human rights in Iran. The organization operates primarily from Albania and seeks to promote democracy and freedom in Iran.
