Penny Chenery
Penny Chenery was an American horse racing owner and breeder, best known for her role in the success of the racehorse Secretariat. Born on January 27, 1922, in New Rochelle, New York, she inherited her father's Meadow Stable in Virginia and became a prominent figure in the horse racing industry during the 1970s.
Under her management, Secretariat won the Triple Crown in 1973, becoming one of the most famous racehorses in history. Chenery's dedication to the sport and her horses earned her recognition, and she was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1976.
