Pennsylvania Superior Court
The Pennsylvania Superior Court is the intermediate appellate court in the state of Pennsylvania. It hears appeals from the Court of Common Pleas, which is the trial court in the state, as well as certain administrative agencies. The court's primary role is to review decisions made by lower courts to ensure that the law was applied correctly.
Established in 1895, the Pennsylvania Superior Court is composed of 15 judges who are elected to serve 10-year terms. The court is divided into panels, and cases are typically decided by a group of three judges. Its decisions can be appealed to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the highest court in the state.
