Pelvic Organs
The pelvic organs are structures located in the lower part of the abdomen, within the pelvic cavity. In females, these include the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and vagina. In males, the primary pelvic organs are the prostate gland, seminal vesicles, and testes. These organs play essential roles in reproduction, urinary function, and, in some cases, digestion.
The pelvic cavity also contains the bladder, which stores urine, and the rectum, which is part of the digestive system. The pelvic floor muscles support these organs and help maintain their position. Proper functioning of the pelvic organs is crucial for overall health and well-being.
