Pekania pennanti
Pekania pennanti, commonly known as the fisher, is a medium-sized carnivorous mammal belonging to the weasel family, Mustelidae. Found primarily in North America, it inhabits forests and mountainous regions. Fishers have a long, slender body, short legs, and a bushy tail, typically weighing between 4 to 13 pounds.
These animals are known for their agility and strength, allowing them to hunt various prey, including squirrels, rabbits, and even porcupines. Fishers are solitary creatures, primarily active during dawn and dusk, and they are excellent climbers, often resting in trees.
