Peering
Peering is a networking practice where two or more internet service providers (ISPs) connect directly to exchange traffic. This arrangement allows them to share data without going through a third-party network, improving speed and reducing costs. Peering can be beneficial for both parties, as it enhances the efficiency of data transfer and can lead to better service for their customers.
There are two main types of peering: public and private. Public peering occurs at internet exchange points (IXPs), where multiple networks connect in a shared facility. Private peering, on the other hand, involves a direct connection between two networks, often established for specific business needs or to handle large volumes of traffic.
