Pedro II of Portugal
Pedro II of Portugal was the King of Portugal from 1683 until his death in 1706. He was born on April 26, 1648, and became king after the death of his brother, Afonso VI. Pedro II's reign is noted for its efforts to stabilize the Portuguese monarchy and improve the country's economy, which had suffered during the previous king's rule.
During his time on the throne, Pedro II focused on strengthening Portugal's overseas colonies and enhancing trade. He also worked to resolve conflicts with neighboring countries, contributing to a more peaceful and prosperous period in Portuguese history. His reign ended with his death on October 9, 1706.
