Pedro Albizu Campos
Pedro Albizu Campos was a prominent Puerto Rican nationalist leader born on September 12, 1891. He studied at Harvard University, where he earned a law degree. Albizu Campos became a key figure in the struggle for Puerto Rican independence from U.S. colonial rule, advocating for the rights and self-determination of the Puerto Rican people.
He was the president of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party and led various protests and movements during the early to mid-20th century. His activism included organizing the 1950 Puerto Rican Nationalist Revolt, which aimed to draw attention to the island's political status. Albizu Campos passed away on April 21, 1965.
