Pease 1
Pease 1 is a prominent star located in the constellation of Camelopardalis. It is classified as a red supergiant, which means it is a massive star that has expanded and cooled after exhausting its hydrogen fuel. Pease 1 is notable for being one of the largest known stars in our galaxy, with a diameter estimated to be over 1,000 times that of the Sun.
Discovered in 1922 by astronomer Robert Pease, Pease 1 is part of a nebula known as the LBN 762. This nebula is a region of space filled with gas and dust, where new stars can form. Pease 1's brightness and size make it an interesting object for astronomers studying stellar evolution.
