Peace and Democracy Party
The Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) is a political party in Turkey that was established in 2008. It aims to represent the interests of the Kurdish population and promote peace, democracy, and human rights. The party advocates for greater autonomy and cultural rights for the Kurdish people, as well as addressing issues related to minority rights and social justice.
The BDP emerged from the Democratic Society Party (DTP) and has participated in various elections, often forming alliances with other leftist and pro-Kurdish groups. The party has faced challenges, including government crackdowns and legal issues, but continues to be a significant voice for Kurdish rights in Turkey.
