Peñalara rock lizard
The Peñalara rock lizard (*Iberolacerta cyreni*) is a small reptile native to the mountainous regions of the Sierra de Guadarrama in Spain. It typically inhabits rocky areas and is well-adapted to its environment, with a body length of about 6 to 10 centimeters. This lizard is known for its distinctive coloration, which helps it blend into the rocky terrain.
These lizards are primarily insectivorous, feeding on various small invertebrates. They are active during the day and are often seen basking on rocks. The Peñalara rock lizard is considered a vulnerable species due to habitat loss and climate change, making conservation efforts important for its survival.
