Pavonis Mons
Pavonis Mons is one of the largest volcanoes in the solar system, located on the planet Mars. It stands about 14 kilometers (46,000 feet) high, making it nearly three times taller than Mount Everest. This shield volcano has a broad, gently sloping profile, typical of volcanic formations created by low-viscosity lava flows.
The volcano is part of the Tharsis volcanic region, which contains several other massive volcanoes, including Ascraeus Mons and Arsia Mons. Pavonis Mons has a diameter of approximately 375 kilometers (233 miles) and features a summit caldera, indicating past volcanic activity. Its formation and characteristics provide valuable insights into the geological history of Mars.
