Paul Tergat
Paul Tergat is a retired Kenyan long-distance runner, widely regarded as one of the greatest marathoners in history. Born on June 17, 1969, in Embu, Kenya, he achieved remarkable success in both track and road racing. Tergat set the world record for the marathon in 2003, completing the distance in 2:04:55 at the Berlin Marathon.
In addition to his marathon accomplishments, Tergat excelled in cross country and track events, winning multiple titles at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships. He is also a two-time Olympic medalist, earning silver in the 10,000 meters at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics.
