Patriarch of Serbia
The Patriarch of Serbia is the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, one of the oldest and most significant Orthodox Christian institutions. This position has existed since the 13th century, and the Patriarch is responsible for spiritual leadership, overseeing church administration, and representing the church in ecumenical dialogues.
The current Patriarch, as of 2023, is Porfirije, who was elected in February 2021. The Patriarchate is based in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, and plays a crucial role in the religious and cultural life of the Serbian people, promoting Orthodox values and traditions.
