Pat Garrett
Pat Garrett was an American lawman, best known for his role in the capture and killing of the infamous outlaw Billy the Kid. Born in 1850 in Alabama, he moved to the American West, where he became a sheriff in Lincoln County, New Mexico. His life was marked by his efforts to maintain law and order during a time of significant lawlessness.
Garrett's most famous achievement came in 1881 when he tracked down Billy the Kid and shot him in a house in Fort Sumner. This event solidified Garrett's reputation as a lawman, but his life took a tumultuous turn afterward, leading to his own struggles and eventual death in 1908.
