Passionist Congregation
The Passionist Congregation is a Roman Catholic religious order founded in 1720 by Saint Paul of the Cross. Its primary mission is to promote the Passion of Christ and to spread devotion to His suffering and love. Members of the congregation, known as Passionists, engage in various forms of ministry, including preaching, teaching, and providing spiritual guidance.
The Passionists are recognized for their distinctive black habit and their commitment to contemplative prayer and community life. They operate in many countries around the world, focusing on serving the poor and marginalized while fostering a deeper understanding of Christ's Passion through retreats and spiritual exercises.
