Parliament of Bhutan
The Parliament of Bhutan is the supreme legislative body of Bhutan, consisting of two houses: the National Assembly and the National Council. It is responsible for making laws, approving the national budget, and overseeing the government. Members of the National Assembly are elected by the public, while the National Council consists of both elected and appointed members.
The Parliament meets in the capital city, Thimphu, and plays a crucial role in the country's democratic process. Established in 2008, it replaced the previous system of absolute monarchy, marking a significant shift towards a constitutional monarchy in Bhutan.
