Pamid
Pamid is a medication primarily used to treat high levels of calcium in the blood, a condition known as hypercalcemia. It belongs to a class of drugs called bisphosphonates, which work by inhibiting the activity of cells that break down bone tissue. This helps to lower calcium levels and can be beneficial for patients with certain types of cancer or other conditions that cause elevated calcium.
In addition to hypercalcemia, Pamid may also be used to treat bone pain associated with multiple myeloma or metastatic bone disease. It is typically administered through an intravenous infusion, allowing for direct delivery into the bloodstream. Patients receiving Pamid may be monitored for side effects, including potential kidney issues or low blood calcium levels.
