Pames
Pames are an indigenous group primarily located in the central region of Mexico, particularly in the states of San Luis Potosí and Querétaro. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional crafts, music, and dance. The Pame language, part of the Oto-Manguean language family, is spoken by some community members, although many also speak Spanish.
Historically, the Pames have faced challenges related to land rights and cultural preservation. Efforts are ongoing to revitalize their traditions and promote their identity, including initiatives to support indigenous rights and education. The Pames continue to play a vital role in the cultural landscape of Mexico.
