PXE Booting
PXE Booting, or Preboot Execution Environment, is a network-based method that allows computers to boot up using files from a server instead of local storage. This process is particularly useful for deploying operating systems across multiple machines without needing physical media like USB drives or CDs.
During PXE Booting, a client computer sends a request to a PXE server over the network. The server responds by providing the necessary boot files, enabling the client to load an operating system and start up. This method is commonly used in enterprise environments for efficient system management and deployment.
