PIRLS
PIRLS, or the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study, is an international assessment that measures the reading skills of fourth-grade students. Conducted every five years, it evaluates how well students understand and interpret written texts. The study provides valuable data on reading literacy trends across different countries.
The International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) administers PIRLS, which includes a variety of reading tasks and questionnaires for students, teachers, and schools. The results help policymakers and educators identify strengths and weaknesses in reading education, guiding improvements in teaching methods and curricula worldwide.
